Around us, majority of people use “DaVinci Resolve” specially when it comes to handle RAW. Seems like “ADOBE SpeedGrade CC” has not gained much popularity yet. Lack of some function such as carves, etc make this software pushed away from your choice. Here is one good thing I would like to mention. Its unbelievably light. Yes light. Our editing machine (i7, 32GB memory,Quadro 5000) can handle RAW on Resolve without any trouble. Other machine with same config except video card which is GeForce GTX 580 keeps crushing on Resolve specially with BM Cinema Camera 2.5K RAW. BMCC data is even larger than 4K ProRess from Red so no wander this is hard task for cheap video card. Here, this machine shines again with “SpeedGrade”. Never crushes, very stable and fast with real time 2.5K RAW play back. If you have trouble playing heavy data try “SpeedGrade”. You will be surprised seeing how the software handle heavy staff. Although I still prefer “DaVinci Resolve”, “SpeedGrade” works just fine too.
